Our Yoga -ish classes are different than traditional yoga as you don’t hold poses and we get noticeable results in each class. The moves are very gentle and get better results than expected. Our testimonies prove it below!

WEAR: Comfortable move-with-ease clothing. Barefoot. Grippy socks are ideal. It’s suggested to wear a sweatshirt or zip up fleece jacket that feels comfy. Bring a water bottle. Mask if you prefer but that is not required.

The Healthy Body Yoga series at CRS is focused on the functioning of the whole body. You will truly be amazed right away how it sheds 10 years of discomfort off of your body!
Below we have results after 25 minutes of Let’s Move It Before We Lose It! class. The student had worked for a year to increase her back bend flexibility and was shocked that this big of change happened so easily. While you may not need to do a back bend in your life, the point is: check out the flexibility and how great that would feel for everyday life!
Our yoga -ish class is not strenuous at all. It’s counter to the go-go push-push of most any exercise class. And we get the results of increased flexibility, of relief from aches and pains in the back, hips, feet and shoulders in the simplest and easiest of movements. Your posture will feel amazing after class and you’ll notice that even sitting feels air-like. Pain carries with it a denseness in the body. The opposite feels air-like in the joints.
The added result of our Healthy Body Yoga classes here at the Christine Rich Studio is the relaxed body and calm mind like Joyce mentioned. Often folks don’t want to sit to meditate thinking they either can’t or their mind drives them nuts so they give up. But they like the idea of meditation’s known benefits. This class gives you peace and stillness each class. It’s remarkable.
These yoga -ish classes are a tremendous asset to any other fitness program: Zumba, Jazzercise, Cross-Fit, YMCA, aerobics, golfing, baseball, basketball, football, yoga, dance, heavy weights, soccer, ballroom, etc. Why? Because your body will achieve correct alignment and the hips will start to work correctly and without nagging body discomforts, you’ll be able to move freely in the sport of your choosing.

YOUR INSTRUCTOR: Christine Rich
Christine owns the Christine Rich Studio which is the longest running training facility in Champaign County for over 37 years. She is a master teacher of ballet, tap, jazz, acrobatics, acting, flexibility, conditioning, functional yoga and re-wiring movement.
She holds patents in the fitness arena (movement and mechanical), invented and licensed fitness products internationally appearing as the fitness spokesperson in media. She was QVC TV’s on-air fitness expert.
Christine loves coaching people to achieve surprising improvements whether in dance, elite ballet competitions, or healthy body yoga through creative principles of physics and movement.
“This class made my posture better. Before, everyone told me to straighten my shoulders. Now, without even trying, they are back and my front feels more open and I’m standing taller, not slouching. Also, my mind is clear. It’s not buzzing with thoughts. I’m always worried what other people think or grades and I feel peaceful. This is big for me to just stop the noise in my head.
My hips feel so much looser it’s easier to walk. Even though I’m 14 my walking feels effortless and I never before thought that walking was hard. But now it feels smooth. I really like this class.”
